Polar pipe is a complete freeze-protected pipe system consisting of one or two standard PE100 RC pipes (one for water and one for sewage), self-limiting heating cable, layers of heat-reflecting aluminum, closed-cell thermal insulation foam and finally a durable polyethylene jacket. This design eliminates the need to dig or blast to frost-free depths; the pipe can be laid on the ground, or on snow and ice if desired, with minimal cover. The result is frost-proof water and sewage with little or no impact on the environment.
