Carbon filter & windmill

Odour filters are used to minimize hydrogen sulphide odours from wells, pumping stations, sewage treatment plants and the house aeration stack.

There are different types of filters
Gas distributor filter, activated carbon, ammonia filter and biomass. Activated carbon does not tolerate moisture as well.

The reason for the odor is that hydrogen sulfide is formed when it is in an oxygen-free environment, if you open it up and add oxygen, the process stops. With the odor filter, any odor problems in the “open” aerated environment are minimized

The lifetime of the filters depends on the environment they are in, the level of hydrogen sulfide in the piping system

The normal operating life of the filters themselves is between 1 to 5 years. It is important when using well cover filters to have a regular service and empty the leaf & sand trap of dirt so that it does not fall down and settle on and lower the capacity of the odor filters.
