Leca balls – for drainage, soil improvement and extra water storage
Leca balls are small balls of burnt clay, which make the soil for your potted plants porous and stable – while helping to create a balance between air and water.
The material has long been used as a soil conditioner on a large scale, as it reduces subsidence and prevents soil from sinking.
In addition, they drain the soil of excess water and act as an extra water reservoir during droughts. Ideal for potted plants.

Advantages of leca balls
– Gives the soil stability and airiness.
– Drains water from the soil.
– Creates an extra water reservoir at the bottom.
– Dampens evaporation of water on the soil surface.
– Decorative in pots and containers.

Leca balls as drainage and water reservoirs
Too much water in the soil damages the plant and can be remedied with the right type of drainage. First of all, the pot must have a drainage hole or several at the bottom, where water can drain out. In addition, it is good to put a layer of leca balls at the bottom to divert excess water. Leca also acts as an extra water reservoir for roots during drier periods.

Tip: a thick layer of leca at the bottom saves flowers from overwatering – and provides an extra water hole for the roots in case of drought.

Burnt clay pellets for reduced evaporation – and decoration
In addition to saving soaked plants through their ability to drain, stabilize and oxygenate the soil, leca pellets can also be used to reduce the evaporation of water on the soil surface. This allows moisture to stay in the soil for longer – and is also decorative.
