The sludge stop well is very good if you want to ensure a long life of your infiltration for preventive purposes or if you detect sludge in the distribution well due to sludge escape from the sludge separator.
The sludge stop well can also be used after a sewage treatment plant as protection against sludge escape, which is common on some brands.
The functioning of a sewerage system with an existing three-chamber manhole and subsequent soil or infiltration bed can in many cases be difficult to determine. The most common problem encountered with these solutions is sludge escape, i.e. sludge clogging the soil bed and causing blockages in the sewer system.
In these cases, the only solution is to dig up the bed and construct a new one, which can be very costly. With the help of sludge arrestor filters, these problems can be easily avoided. By connecting a sludge stop well after the existing three-chamber well, the sludge is prevented from going further into the infiltration bed.
Maintenance:
Check the sludge trap at least once a year, if there is sludge in the filter pick it up and shake it off above a compost or rinse it off above the open lid of the sludge separator.¨
