When buying a stone coffin
The picture shows two single modules of 75L already connected.
Included are grid caps that are placed on one end for mounting the inlet pipe.
To assemble the modules, clips are included that are easily pressed into the customized holes.
With this efficient stone coffin, you save both time, money and unnecessary ground work!
Good to know about a stone coffin
A cistern is used to take care of the property’s own rainwater if you do not have access to a municipal stormwater pipe or your own ditch.
Most municipalities have begun to require LOD = Local stormwater management in new construction. Stormwater cassettes are the solution for building an efficient stone coffin with the least possible labor input.
The water is led from the roof of the house via pipes to the stormwater reservoir consisting of the appropriate number of cassettes that you have dug into the plot.
When it rains, the reservoir will fill up and the water will seep into the ground through the bottom of the stormwater cassette.
How quickly and how much the water runs off depends on the nature of the soil. Remember to install leaf cleaners on the downpipes to prevent leaves and other debris from entering the reservoir.
Stormwater management is important to avoid water damage to the house and to keep the ground surface and the plot drier.
A cistern is a very effective solution. It is a well-proven method for managing stormwater. The principle is simple, water sinks into the ground and by creating a cavity, it is possible to store the water from the rooftop before it sinks (percolates).
Make sure to oversize your cistern to handle more stormwater than is estimated to be necessary.
