AC module to replace the sand under the HS infiltration bed

NOTE! Only the modules are included in this article.

This package replaces the sand that should be under the HS infiltration & soil bed.
Suitable very well when you have difficulty handling gravel and sand such as on islands.

The package is for HS infiltration & HS soil bed after gray water filter as discharge point (recipient)

Total height from the bottom of the modules to the top of the spreader tube is about 45cm

This package fits a HS infiltration bed of 1.2m2.
For larger beds, e.g. 2.4 or 3.6 m2, buy 2 or 3 pieces of this package.

The size of each module is:

Preparatory Installation
To ensure the function, you need to do a test of the soil’s ability to absorb a certain number of liters of water per m2 and day a so-called pecolation test. The test gives a so-called LTAR value
Complete kit containing everything you need to perform percolation tests in pipes costs a few hundred dollars.

Soil bed, infiltration or raised infiltration?

Soil bed
If the soil is dense clay or rock and the LTAR value is less than 15, a soil bed must be constructed, which means diverting the water to a suitable location so that a sinkhole does not form on the plot with a drainage pipe under the modules.

Infiltration
If the LTAR value is above 15, a simple infiltration can be installed directly in the ground if the protection distance between the diffuser pipe and the highest groundwater level is more than 1 meter. If the distance is less than 1 meter, a raised infiltration must be constructed with more modules.

Installation
If the soil has good infiltration capacity, the modules can be laid directly on the soil layer.

1. HS carpet is laid on top of the modules
2. The spreader tube is placed on top of the HS mat.
3. At the top, a ground cloth is then laid over the spreader tube and modules
4. Everything is then covered with fill soil

If it is rock or clay, a drainage pipe is laid underneath (Complete the package with an additional soil bed package)
