Cutting pipes
Cut the pipe with a fine-toothed saw or cutting tool.
Use a miter saw or paper to obtain a right angle. Pipe ends should be cleaned and deburred with a knife or beveling tool. Chamfering with rasp etc. is not necessary.
Assembly
Pipes and parts are delivered with a permanently mounted sealing ring according to SS-EN 681-2. The seals are oil resistant to oil type 1 according to the same standard.
PP cannot be glued. This is due to the resistance of the PP material to chemicals and solvents
Clamping
Fixed point clamping is done to attach the pipe to the building and to create a fixed point for the purpose of accommodating expansion. Sliding clamps should guide the pipe so that the length expansion is accommodated in the sleeve. Clamping is carried out to such an extent that the system can never slip apart so that leaks can occur in the event of, for example, uncontrolled movements in the system or a stoppage downstream. Where fixed clamps are used, they shall always be fitted on pipes with a sleeve behind the sealing ring groove and on the fixed clamp field of the pipe section.
It is particularly important that sliding sleeves are fitted with fixed clamps.
Assembly of the sleeve
– Clean the sleeve and smooth end.
– Apply a thin layer of lubricant to the tip end and sealing ring.
– Turn the pipe slightly while pushing the pipe into the socket.
– Pull back the tip end so that the sleeve has the required expansion space.
Joining to other materials, e.g. cast iron
Connection between PP and MA pipes is made with an ABS or PVC shrink sleeve. Joining to MA pipe can be done with JET coupling (2 bolts) or Fernco coupling. When connecting to cast-in PP pipe, only a single-bolt coupling (Ultrajet or Rapid coupling) is required. Support sleeve should not be used in either case.
Plugging of drains
For plugging of drains (e.g. branch pipes for future connection), a plug is used that is mounted in a sleeve.
Make sure that the plug cannot be pushed out in the event of a blockage in the line.
