4" Boreholes & well pumps

It is important to choose the right pump to suit the depth and diameter of the well whether it is drilled or dug.The choice of hose size is very important too.

Deep water pump, submersible pump, borehole pump, deep well pump?
If you’re wondering why they’re called different names, don’t worry – they’re exactly the same type of pump from different manufacturers.

However, what can differentiate these pumps is not the name but their flow capacity and pressure capability. Normally there are several flow series for different needs, e.g. 1 m3/hour, 2.5 m3/hour, 4 m3/hour, etc. Then within a flow series there are different pressure capacities, often measured in mvp (meter water column).

Since such pumps are often installed in drilled wells, the installation depth varies greatly and therefore the choice of pump needs to be adapted to the installation depth and other things in the system that cause resistance.
