Ventilation

Ventilation of all types of sewage technology whether dry toilets, incinerators, septic tanks, infiltration, closed tanks and treatment plants is one of the most important parts of the individual sewer.

It is also the most common fault in the event of a breakdown.

It is of utmost importance that the venting of the sewer works.

It is not only the infiltration itself or the soil bed that needs deaeration, but also a sludge separator must have it to function properly.

If there is no venting, gases are formed in the sludge separator, creating a floating sludge in the wrong place.

This floating sludge is at risk of being carried to the subsequent treatment, equal to sludge escape and clogged infiltration bed and post-purification or substandard treatment of the mini-treatment plant.

If the venting does not work, they form gases. The sludge sticks to these bubbles and follows them to the surface.

If the gases are vented through the sewer vent, the sludge sinks to the bottom again and the sludge separator process works properly and no sludge is formed in the last chamber.

If there is no deaeration, there is a great risk that this floating sludge will make its way to the subsequent purification stage and settle in it, resulting in a stop in the entire plant.

Vacuum valves must not be used on individual drains, they only let air in and do not let air out, thus interrupting ventilation.

Vacuum valve stops this air flow and causes the same problem of sludge escape and is a very common problem and failure cause of problems.

Contractors who install vacuum valves find it a good, convenient and simple solution without knowing that it will destroy the plant.

When it’s a municipal sewer, vacuum valves work perfectly well to prevent the water traps from emptying, but when it’s a private sewer, it’s completely wrong.

If you have problems with odors, carbon filters work very well, but keep in mind that not all systems can handle the carbon filter restricting the air flow, such as combustion toilets.
