A640 Liquid Ductile Iron EVO Locking Arms D400

Complete floating A640 cover in ductile iron, designed for concrete manhole Ø640 mm. Cover with three (3) locking arms, polyurethane gasket and sealed spike hole.

Installation
The well should be constructed so that the cover can be adjusted both upwards and downwards. Variable covers should “float/hang” in min. lOOmm of asphalt. The cover should be rolled in the hot asphalt and packed well. The asphalt should have full contact around the entire frame of the cover. When installation is complete, the cover should be “level” with the rest of the existing road.

Tips/Advice
When installing “Variable/Floating” covers, scraper rings should be used. Scraper rings prevent gravel/stone from entering the well during construction. During construction, no vehicles are allowed to drive over the cover unless the cover has adequate packing under the frame support flange. The flange is not designed to withstand such loads unless there is adequate packing underneath.

To increase the life of the cover/frame
Ensure that there is no gravel/stone between the cover and frame. Gravel/stone damages the cover and can cause the cover to start “wobbling” in the frame, which creates noise when the cover is operated. Any rubber seals/damper rings on the cover are checked to ensure that they are whole and clean and can then be lubricated with lubricant/grease for easier installation in the frame.
