Aquatron is the ecological system with fresh and easy composting. For those who still want convenience and hygiene, with a standard water-flush toilet.

Separate feces and flush water from the source (WC). Reuse!

The water is flushed to a separator (without moving parts and energy consumption) where urine and flush water are separated from feces and paper. It is then discharged into a BDT sludge separator (Bath, Dish, Wash) for infiltration into the ground.
The infiltration should be dimensioned for toilet water.
The solid waste is composted in a bio chamber.

The Aquatron 4×100 has internal compost bins that are divided into 4 sections of approximately 100 liters. The inner, sectioned container is rotatable like a carousel.

Aquatron 4×100 is suitable for holiday homes (about 5 people) and for small households (1-2 people, permanent residence). The compost bin is turned 90 degrees clockwise every 3-4 months. One turn thus takes 12-16 months. The interval for turning and eventual emptying depends on the load, on the temperature of the space where the biochamber is installed and whether or not compost worms are used.

When the previously filled composting bins are turned to the emptying position, the waste is fully composted and converted into about 10 liters of mulch. You can then choose to empty or let the compost bin turn one more time before emptying. The fully composted mulch is a perfect soil conditioner.

The main advantage of Aquatron 4×100 compared to Aquatron 90 or 2×50, is the full composting which provides a comfortable handling.

Purification effects with the Aquatron system

Using an Aquatron system reduces the load on downstream sludge separators and infiltration by removing the feces in the Aquatron system.

When removing the feces, the values are reduced according to (HVMFS 2016:17)

• 25% of phosphorus
• 11% of the nitrogen
• 31% of BOD7

Using an Aquatron system increases the reduction of all values and theoretically meets almost high environmental requirements for environmental protection (phosphorus reduction 90%)

With theoretical calculations from the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management’s general advice on small sewage devices, 82% reduction of phosphorus is achieved, Normal requirements are 70% and high requirements are 90%.

You can almost meet the high phosphorus requirement without any expensive and complicated phosphorus precipitation technology.

If you want to increase phosphorus removal, you can supplement with Aquatron’s phosphorus trap or chemical precipitation in the sludge separator.

What do you do with the water after the Aquatron system?

The Aquaton system is unique because you can use water toilets and easily reuse the flush water.
There are many different options and solutions used all over the world.

Usually, after the Aquatron, the water is sent to a sludge separator where it is mixed with gray water from the house, so that the water can be used in different ways:

• Infiltrated into the ground to be dimensioned according to the rules for WC water.
• Led to a wastewater treatment plant for easy sludge management.
• Reused as flush water for toilets (Aquatron’s UV is often used to remove bacteria)
• Used as fertilizer irrigation of plants (add Aquatrons UV to remove bacteria)
• Using a treatment pond with plants.
• Be directed to a larger common facility

If urine-diverting toilets are used for Aquatron, you use the urine directly and produce your own natural fertilizer.
