The compact bed has undergone long-term testing at RISE in Uppsala and is developed for Scandinavia’s cold water temperatures

Flocculant.
If necessary, supplement with a dense rubber sheet if you are close to rock or groundwater, etc.
Typical use and limitation of the BAGA Easy Compact Bed
The compact bed should only be used in conjunction with the BAGA Easy and is
a complement to our full-size beds, saving space and money under the following conditions:
High level of protection – reduced nitrogen requirement
Many municipalities accept limited nitrogen reduction (<50%) even at high level of protection when the benefits are not considered to justify the extra investment. In these cases, the compact bed more than meets the requirements for a high level of protection.
Normal protection level – high phosphorus requirement
Normal protection level generally means 70% phosphorus reduction and 90% BOD reduction (no nitrogen requirement). However, in relative proximity to sensitive watercourses and the Baltic Sea, it is common to increase the phosphorus reduction requirement to 90%, which the compact bed is ideally suited for.
Normal level of protection – phosphorus trap requirement
It is well known in the industry that traditional soil beds have a limited lifespan and become “saturated” with phosphorus, typically 5-10 years after installation (depending on load and other parameters). Some municipalities therefore require soil-based solutions to be complemented by a phosphorus trap. In these cases, the compact bed exceeds the requirements in one step and no subsequent phosphorus trap is necessary.
Normal level of protection – lack of space
Land-based treatment is Sweden’s most popular and most common variant of individual sewerage. However, it requires a relatively large amount of space on the plot – which the family may prefer to use for other purposes. The compact bed reduces the space requirement to 1/5 – while maintaining performance
