Compact coir bed with coconut substrate provides biological treatment of wastewater to protect the soil. Thanks to the filter material and availability, the filtration is always controllable. The filtration will therefore work for decades. At the same time, it enables effective after-treatment, which can also be used as a supplementary treatment step, e.g. in the case of low limit values.
Equipment compact coir bed for 2-8 PE
For shallow installation (in the standard version, for example on sloping ground or when loading a pump), or for greater installation depths supplied:
- PE filter housing
- Neck extension VS 20
- PE lock TopCover
- Filter substrate (coconut particles)
- Distribution system
- Geotextile
- Ventilation and Sampling in one unit
Buy an extension neck if necessary.
How does a compact coir bed work?
Compact coir beds are connected to a smaller secondary treatment plant as a third stage of treatment for domestic wastewater, preferably in small batches (50 l). A distribution pipe distributes the water over the surface of the coir filter, from where it is slowly filtered through the media. It can then either be filtered directly into the ground (open ground) or discharged through a pipe. Consequently, compact coir bed offers a complementary passive and robust natural wastewater treatment.
Compact coir bed ensures by biological and physical means that an additional 50 to 80% of remaining organic pollutants (as particles or in loose form) are captured in the filter bed and aerobically degraded.
As with all products in the Ecoflo family, the compact coir bed is based on the unique filtration properties of coconut substrate. The 100% biological coconut substrate is a highly porous and water-retaining medium (comparable to a sponge), which provides good conditions to form a filter skin. It also supports the distribution of the wastewater horizontally inside the medium. The filter medium can practically not be clogged.
