Condor Motor protection switch 6,3 – 10,0A, 230v/400V
The Condor CMS Thermal Protection is extremely suitable for providing pumps with the necessary protection.
The switches are equipped with a test function that allows the mechanical function to be checked.
An optional emergency stop with rotary opening (in accordance with regulations) can be easily installed.
The switches comply with European regulations.
What does a motor protection switch do?
They are mainly used to manually start/stop motors and provide fuse-free protection against short circuit, overload and phase failure.
The current at which the thermal overload protection should be set is indicated on the motor nameplate.
How to restore engine protection?
The motor protection is reset by pressing the black button, which is possible as soon as the motor winding has cooled down sufficiently.
How does a bimetal work in an engine cover?
The current generated in the respective phase conductors of a motor generates heat. If the motor is overloaded for any reason, the current increases and so does the heat. The heat causes the bimetals of the motor protection to bend and when the current exceeds the set value, the protection trips.
