FlexiClean filter cassette for stormwater treatment
FlexiClean is a filter cassette for stormwater treatment suitable for wells with an inner diameter of 350 – 1000 mm.
The filter purifies heavy metals, nutrients, oils PAH and Pfas.
The cassette flows 160 l/min of filtered water and is equipped with a bypass function for high flows.
The filter bag, which consists of a mixture of pine bark and wood chips, is normally changed once a year.
To consider. FlexiClean requires at least 800mm/1000 depth in the well and with smooth inside of the well.
Telescope designation can make installation difficult.
In addition, keep in mind that the “hole” in the designation must be about 300mm in diameter”.
These different models are available to suit different wells

Installation of a well filter
1. If cleaning is needed. Vacuum the storm water drain.
2. Take measurements from the bottom of the storm water drain to the outlet pipe for the storm water network.
3. Cut the support leg so that the bottom of FlexiClean is mounted 50 mm below the outlet pipe for the storm water network.
4. Place FlexiClean in the bottom of the drain and fold down the shaft for locking.
Installation normally takes just a few minutes.
Filter replacement
To replace the filter bag, start by opening the hatch located on top of the filter cassette. Then pull up the inner cassette and place it on the ground with the opening facing up.
Then open the door, lift out the bag and place in a new filter bag before lowering the inner cassette back into the cassette.
Time for changing the filter is a couple of minutes.
FlexiClean prescribed
FlexiClean is increasingly being prescribed. Consultants and clients have asked us how to formulate the tender to ensure they get FlexiClean stormwater filters. Here is an example.
Well filter of the filter cassette model. The filter cassette is placed at the bottom of the gutter well for the treatment of road surface water. The cassette must be equipped with a by-pass function for peak flows. The cassette must purify Pb, Cu, Zn, Cd, Cr, Ni, Hg and oils.
The filter cassette must be of the FlexiClean type or equivalent.
Disposal of filter bags
The filters contain low levels of metals, but a large proportion of organic material and therefore incineration of the waste is recommended. No further sampling of the filters is deemed to be justified, as the metal contents were so low.
