Matala EZClear 25 Watt

Matala EZClear UV-C Clarifiersare used to reduce harmful bacteria, parasites, fungi, protozoa and viruses and reduce blooms of floating green algae.

This is a simpler version than the regular Matala Spectrum which is stainless steel and has better reflection with its shiny surface and gets better values.
The EZClear model is prepared for hose connection and the Spectrum model is for thread connection.

Supplied with high-quality Philips lamps, these lamps are considered the best ultraviolet lamps in the world.
They are long lasting and provide maximum UV effect.
All UV lamps should be changed once a year.

For best results with UV water treatment, the water should be free of e.g. particles, iron, manganese, lime and surface water before the UV filter.
This is solved with water filters for the intended function.

PRE-TREATMENT

For optimal effect of the UV treatment in tube form, proper pretreatment is required. The recommended limit values below are a guide to the choice and possible need for pre-treatment of the water.

• Iron (Fe) < 0,3 ppm (0,3 mg/l)
• Hardness < 120 ppm (120 mg/l = 6,7°dH)
• UVT10 > 75%
• Total suspended solids (TSS) < 5 ppm (5 mg/l)

FOR PARTICLE FILTRATION, WE RECOMMEND A PRE-FILTER WITH 5 MICRON FILTRATION.

• For smaller flows, use a cartridge filter with 5 my cartridge.
• For larger flows, use a bag filter with 5 my filter bag.

HERE ARE SOME POINTS THAT SHOULD BE MET TO ACHIEVE THE OPTIMAL EFFECT OF UV TREATMENT:

• Proper pre-treatment of incoming water if you do not have Aquatron UV
• Right flow rate in relation to UV plant capacity
• If the pump flow is too high in relation to the UV system, the flow should be throttled down
• Cleaning the quartz glass 2-3 times a year (in some cases more often)
• Changing the UV lamp in time
