Jets™ Biotank – for those who want to do most things themselves

The Jets™ Biotank is specially designed to provide efficient composting. As the toilet waste is finely ground, the composting process is already well “jump-started”. It is frost insulated and can, in extreme situations, be kept at the right temperature using a heating cable supplied as an optional accessory.

Biotank that can be placed wherever you want

The biotank is placed in any location on the plot. If desired, it can be placed in an outbuilding, under the cottage, hidden in the terrain or by the house wall, etc.

After each toilet visit, the ground toilet waste is automatically pumped to a particle filter in the Biotank. The excess liquid can then be discharged into a separate infiltration ditch (the method can be found as a PDF that can be downloaded from the icon below the image on the right).

In some cases, a phosphorus trap may be required to be installed between the Biotank and your BDT drain.

When the filter is full, or at least twice a year, the basket, including the filter, is lifted out of the Biotank and emptied into your latrine compost for post-composting. A new particle filter is placed in the Biotank which is now immediately ready for use.

The capacity of the Biotank is about 300 person-days before you need to change the filter*. Two Biotanks can be used to increase the capacity.
