Jets installation parts
Follow the instructions from Jets® when installing horizontal piping for maximum efficiency and trouble-free service.
These important instructions apply when planning both rising and falling systems.
When planning a vacuum piping installation, it is important that the number of wastewater units matches the dimensions of the piping. Table 1 shows
the recommendations to be followed for maximum efficiency in the vacuum system.
Jets recommends the use of vacuum-approved pipes from Poloplast.
Piping requirements:
– Suction side 50mm vacuum-approved pipes e.g. Poloplast
– Pressure side PEM hose 32mm
VOD vacuum side, fall and transport in horizontal pipes
Follow the instructions from Jets® when installing horizontal piping for maximum efficiency and trouble-free service.
These important instructions apply when planning both rising and falling systems.
Vacuum piping slope
● Horizontal piping systems should be installed in accordance with general principles with a slope downwards to the Vacuumarator® pump. The slope should
be 1:100
● Install transport pockets if the distance exceeds 6 m.
● Outlet pipes from wastewater sources, such as toilets, urinals and squat toilets, should be directed downwards to avoid backflow.
● Transport pockets are not needed as long as the slope is 1:100 and the distance does not exceed 6 m.
VOD vacuum side, transport pockets
In plants where the slope cannot be guaranteed, transport pockets must be installed if the horizontal length exceeds 6 meters. This is required to
convert the wastewater into sludge, control the vacuum flow and help prevent backflow.
Note! The Vacuumarator® pump must always be installed at the same or lower level than the waste water sources (i.e. toilet)
(A) Lift height, max 800 mm
(A) 4 x 45° bends
VOD/VIP vacuum side, rising pipes, multiple toilets
Waste water connections and Vacuumarator® pump at the same level: rising horizontal pipe (lift)
● Make sure that the Y-branch fittings (B) are mounted in the direction of flow.
● Always connect the gooseneck (A) from top to bottom to the horizontal pipe.
● If you want to run rising pipes to a Vacuumarator® pump, a 90º pipe bend (2 x 45° bends) is required from the toilet/waste water source.
● Note: If it is not possible to lay the pipes with the necessary slope, a transport pocket must be included centrally along the pipe. This applies to pipes that are
more than 6 m long.
It may be necessary to fit a check valve to achieve the lift capacity of the installed pump and prevent backflow or bubble formation in the wastewater source.
Always contact us if you have any questions regarding the need for a check valve.
A check valve is always included with the Ultima pump.
