Hydrofor & hydropress

A hydrophore (other names include pressure vessel or pressure tank) is a pressurized water reservoir, which serves as a store of pressurized water, to which a pump is connected. This produces a pressure in the water pipes that will vary between the set pressures for the on and off switching of the pump. This means that the pump does not start every time a water tap is opened. If a more even pressure is desired, this means that the pump starts more often.

Hydrophores are mainly available in vertical models (but also horizontal) and are made of hot-dip galvanized steel, stainless steel or plastic.

A hydropress works on the same principle as a hydrophore.
Inside the tank is a membrane that is pre-pressurized with air, therefore replacing a regular hydrophore tank more than twice the size

A 150 liter hydrophore is roughly equivalent to a 60 liter hydropress, the tapping volume is about 20 liters. A hydropress of 100 liters, has the tapping volume of about 35 liters

We recommend a 60 liter hydropress for a normal sized household of four people. This corresponds to a 150 liter hydrophore.

A smaller pump flow capacity can be compensated by a larger pressure tank/hydrophore.

Hydropressors are by far the most common today for installations.
