PRK & ISIFLO couplings

What is the difference between PRK and Isiflo couplings?

PRK:
– For PE/PEM pipes
– Requires support sleeve
– Good for standard installations
– Plastic construction
– More sensitive to assembly errors

Isiflo:
– Available in brass (DZR) and composite
– Usually does not require a support sleeve
– Withstands higher pressure and vibrations
– Long service life
– Better mechanical grip
– More expensive but more reliable

Threads:

All threads are pipe threads and the nipples can therefore be used as pipe fittings.

Recommendations

– For regular PEM wiring in a house or plot: PRK works, but always use a support sleeve.
– For underground water pipes where operational reliability is important: choose Isiflo.
– For service pipes: preferably use Isiflo or electric welding.
– For temporary or easily accessible installations: PRK may be sufficient.
