WC connector

A WC connector (WC pan connector) is used to connect the toilet outlet to the floor or wall waste pipe. It creates the seal between the toilet and the drainage system, and it is important to choose the right type and install it correctly to avoid leaks and bad smells.

The first thing to consider is whether the waste pipe is in the floor or in the wall. For floor outlets, a straight or offset connector is commonly used. For wall outlets, you often need an angled or flexible connector so you can adjust the height and distance. The connector must match the pipe size, usually 90 mm or 110 mm.

You must also check the distance between the toilet outlet and the center of the drainpipe. If they do not align perfectly, an offset (eccentric) connector or a flexible connector is used. A flexible connector is easy to fit but should only be used when needed, because rigid connectors seal better and last longer.

Material quality is important. A good connector has soft rubber for sealing and durable plastic. Cheap connectors can dry out, crack or lose their seal after a few years. The sealing rubber should be EPDM or another approved material.

When installing, the pipe and toilet outlet must be clean. Push the connector firmly into the drainpipe until it bottoms out, then lower the toilet into the connector so the rubber seals properly against the porcelain. The toilet must stand stable and straight; if it wobbles or pushes the connector sideways, leaks can occur. If the toilet is not stable, it must be adjusted before installing the connector.

Avoid long flexible connectors, bent or kinked installations, and connectors that are not fully inserted. A poorly installed connector can cause water leakage or bad smells when flushing. When renovating, always replace old connectors because the rubber deteriorates over time.

In summary: choose the right type depending on the drain position, correct dimension, good material quality, and make sure the installation is straight and without tension. This ensures a tight, durable and problem-free toilet installation.
