Distribution wells

Between the sludge separator and the subsequent treatment stage there should be a distribution well. The purpose of the well is to distribute the wastewater evenly to the pipes that disperse the water in the macadam layer before it infiltrates and is treated in the underlying sand.

A distribution well makes it very easy to check that there is no sludge escaping from the sludge separator.

There are also distribution wells with built-in sludge stop filter which is very good and can save the infiltration many years.

With the regulators, you can adjust the flow to each spreader pipe so that infiltration is evenly loaded over the entire surface.

In the distribution well, you can also see if there would be a stop in subsequent purification. The water level should be at the bottom of the outgoing pipe in the unloaded position. Should the water be higher, there is a stop in subsequent purification or backfall.
