Single adapter, Quick coupling in manholes

A single adapter (also called a lifting coupling, coupling foot, connection adapter or guide coupling) is the mechanical and hydraulic connection between:

The pump’s pressure outlet, and
The fixed pipe (service line) that exits the pump well.
It is usually located at the bottom of the pump well and allows the pump to be easily:
lowered into the well,
automatically connected to the outlet pipe, and
lifted back up for service — without having to go down into the well or unscrew pipes.

Easy installation and service

The pump can be easily lifted up when needed (e.g. service, pump replacement, cleaning).

When it is lowered back down, it automatically slides on guide rails and connects tightly to the adapter.

No one needs to go down into the well or loosen pipe connections — everything is done “quickly connected”.

Tight hydraulic connection

The single adapter provides a tight, precise connection between the pump and the pressure line.

This ensures that:

no wastewater can leak into the well, and

all wastewater goes out into the system during operation.

The tightness is often achieved via an O-ring or conical seal between the pump outlet and the adapter.
