BRIO SK21 pressure switch with protection for dry running of pump

Brio SK21 is used to control the switching on and off of the pump depending on the water intake.
The BRIO SK21 is designed to replace the pressure tank but can also work with a pressure tank.
The pump turns on and off automatically. The pump is switched on when the pressure drops below the set switching pressure and is switched off when the maximum pressure generated by the pump is reached and the water flow in the hydraulic system stops.
This design of the device means in practice that the pump is switched on when the tap is opened and when the tap is closed, the pump is switched off after several seconds.
Due to its design, the use of BRIO SK 21 allows the pump to work automatically without the pressure tank, switch, pressure gauge and the connections between these components associated with classic installation.
This unit is particularly suitable when there is little space for a booster set or when the pump has to be dismantled frequently.
An additional advantage of the BRIO SK 21 is that the unit stops the pump in case of water shortage, which prevents damage to the hydraulic parts of the pump during operation without water, i.e. during so-called dry running.
Brio 21 can only be used with single-phase 230 volt pumps, whose current consumption during operation is a maximum of 25A and the motor power does not exceed 2.2 kW.
You can only adjust the impact pressure.
The pump start-up pressure is factory-set at approximately 1.5 bar. The switch-on pressure can be changed by turning the screw located in the unit casing

The BRIO SK 21 must be installed between the pump and the first water inlet.
The BRIO SK 21 does not need to be installed directly on the pump, although it must be installed on the discharge pipe from the pump.
In any case, it must be installed so that the arrow on the device casing (outlet discharge) points in the direction of the water flow in the pipe, i.e. in the position shown in Figure No. 2. Check all connections for leaks.
