PEM hose is a durable flexible hose used as a pressure hose as well as a suction hose for drinking water, wastewater and process water.

All our PEM hoses are drinking water approved and made of quality material PE80 or PE100.

Pressure class: PN 10
Design: SDR17
Material thickness: 2.4mm
Dimension: 40mm

Classification and color marking table

SDR11 SDR17 SDR26 Color stripes
Water PN16 PN10 PN6 Blue
Drainage PN16 PN10 PN6 Brown

SDR = Indicates the ratio between pipe diameter and material thickness.
Pressure class = Indicates maximum operating pressure in bar

Standard: SS-EN 12201, Nordic Poly Mark (PAS 1075), DK-VAND

The bending radius is approximately 9 x the outer diameter of the pipe.

Strength and longevity

With a correct dimensioning (design factor at least 1.25) PE 100 pipes can be expected to have a lifetime of more than 100 years. With higher design factor the service life can be expected to increase further.

The strength of a PE pipe is temperature dependent and the strength is related to the temperature +20 °C . Higher temperature results in reduced strength. Lower temperature gives higher strength.

PE pipes are nowadays usually made of PE 80 or PE 100 material.
For these materials, the reduction factors given in Table 2 generally apply to the allowable stress in the materials for continuous use at temperatures above +20 °C

Installation and laying

Excavated material can be used for backfilling provided that the material is stone-free. Maximum stone size 32 mm, but single stones up to 60 mm may be evenly distributed in the perimeter fill at a distance of at least 0,15 m from the pipeline.
If existing materials are unsuitable, use sand or gravel in the 0-22 mm or macadam in the fraction 4-22 mm.
Ring filling is done in the entire width of the trench and at least 0.3 m above the top of the pipeline.
